Olivia-Beth Horak has been with Waterloo Counseling Center since 2022. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Olivia-Beth earned her Bachelor of Social Work (Cultures and Identities, emphasis in Sexuality and Gender Identity) in 2006 and Master of Science in Social Work (Clinical Concentration) at The University of Texas at Austin, Steve Hicks School of Social Work in 2011.
Olivia-Beth loves being a therapist. Olivia-Beth loves the experience of seeing a person walk away lighter, freer, and excited to live their own personal journey after healing from wounds and obstacles in their path. There is nothing better than seeing a human being alleviated from emotional, psychological, spiritual or relational pain.
Olivia-Beth comes to WCC with over 15 years of experience in social work. She specializes in emotional regulation, life transitions, depression, anxiety, spirituality, trauma, and LGBTQIA+ Issues. Olivia-Beth has extensive experience working with adolescents and young adults.
Olivia-Beth’s goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment that is both sex- and kink-positive. Olivia-Beth utilizes EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, narrative therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy to achieve measurable results with clients.
Olivia-Beth is proudest of co-founding a spiritual camp for LGBTQIA+ youth in 2009, Spirit Pride Project. Olivia-Beth is happiest being surrounded by water, food, and the great outdoors. You might also find her occasionally bingeing shows with her best friend and pup, Cody Little.
