Marilyn has been with Waterloo for 7 years and is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology and Biology, and her Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Texas State University. Marilyn is bilingual (Spanish) and is a native Austinite from Southeast Austin.

Her therapeutic focus is in working with the effects of childhood Trauma, such as grief, anxiety, and depression due to experiences within family of origin dynamics, generational dynamics and relationships.

She is trained in EMDR and finds that it is a valuable tool for its efficacy and expediency. She works with individuals who are seeking to develop their own tools for emotional regulation and coping. 

Her goal is to provide a safe and supportive environment that is conducive to helping people pursue the goals they have set for themselves.

She is proud of being witness to the increase in confidence and self-esteem that people experience through their own dedication and commitment to themselves. Some of Marilyn’s hobbies and interests are reading books, vinyasa yoga, podcasts, live music, dancing, swimming in central Texas rivers, camping, snowboarding, and cooking.
