Waterloo Counseling Center was established in 1983.

Waterloo Counseling Center’s (WCC) vision is for Austin to be an all inclusive community. WCC provides a safe, accepting, supportive environment in order for those at the margins to regain their voice; empowers clients to change relationships that inflict silence, shame, and isolation; and advocates for a community that has no margins.

WCC provides affordable mental health counseling services utilizing a sliding scale fee, advocates specifically for the GLBT community and those affected by HIV/AIDS and provides diversity training with an expertise in gender and sexual identity.

Waterloo offers several options for therapy including individual, couples, group and family counseling. All services are based on a sliding scale and some grant-funded services are available for clients who are unable to otherwise afford services.

Because of Waterloo's commitment to honoring cultural and human diversity, counseling is offered to any person regardless of age, sex, race, disability, religion, nationality, sexual orientation or gender identification.

Ride for a Cure
The Ride was the most successful ever! Over $680,000 was raised!

The money will support Austin agencies serving the HIV positive population with housing, food, dental and medical care, medicine, counseling and end of life care. Waterloo serves this population through the HART (HIV/AIDS Responsive Therapy) program. Counselors offer individual, family and group therapy in the clients home, at other agencies, at Doug's house, and here in our offices. They go where the client needs them to go! Its not too early to sign up now for next year. 100 riders have already signed up and a sponsor has donated $10,000 toward next years ride!! WOW! Thank you!!
